General Information

LOCATION
East End Arts School, 141 E. Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901

CALENDAR & FEES
The East End Arts School's private music instruction program runs on a 16-lesson or 15-lesson semester as determined by federal and school holidays. Enrollment for the academic school year consists of a Fall and a Spring semester. Each student is entitled to one make-up lesson. A make-up week is scheduled at the end of the semester for this purpose. An extra week is scheduled for use for any weather day make-ups or instructor absences. A separate Summer semester consisting of 7 lessons, with no make-ups for absences, is also available. Please see the yearly school calendar for exact dates and days closed. Half-hour trial lessons are available prior to registration. There is a $38 fee for this lesson.

A non-refundable registration fee is due upon enrollment. No lesson times will be held without paid registration and either total tuition for the semester or initial down payment for the installation plan. Lesson payments can be made per academic school year, per semester or by installment plan. Weekly payments are not accepted. Monthly installment plan payments are due at the first lesson of the month. Failure to pay will lead to immediate termination of lessons.

PERFORMANCES
Twice-yearly student recitals are scheduled at the end of fall and spring semesters. Students also have the opportunity to perform at East End Gallery openings and various community venues.

MAKE UP POLICY
Students are committing to a course of study, and will not be credited for missed lessons. ONLY ONE EXCUSED ABSENCE WILL BE MADE UP PER SEMESTER. If a student cancels a make up lesson the teacher is not required to reschedule the lesson. All lessons canceled by the teacher will be rescheduled. All lessons missed due to inclement weather will also be rescheduled. There are allocated days for make up lessons at the end of each semester. Please note that the limited summer semester schedule does not allow for any excused absences to be made up.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS
Decisions regarding school closings will be made by noon. When in doubt call the School at 631-369-2171 for information. For full day closings please see the homepage or call the East End Arts Gallery at 631-727-0900 for a recorded message. If a private instruction is canceled due to a teacher emergency every effort will be made to reach the student via the phone numbers provided at registration.

INSTRUCTION WITHDRAWAL & REFUNDS
In the case of withdrawal from private music instruction, two weeks notice must be given. The student will be considered absent until the School is notified of withdrawal. Days absent prior to withdrawal will not be included in refund. A pro-rated refund, less the equivalent of two lessons, will be issued based on prior payments.
