Luke is a trumpet player and teacher from Long Island, New York. He recently graduated from Stony Brook University with a Masters degree in music performance where he studied privately with Kevin Cobb. He also received his Bachelor of Arts in music at Stony Brook where he graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the Presser music scholarship. He has attended many festivals including the Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar, Bay Brass Summer Brass Institute, and the Hot Springs Music Festival. In addition to his playing on modern trumpet, Luke began studying the baroque trumpet in 2010 and has studied privately with renowned teachers Kris Kwapis and John Theissen. In 2016 he attended the American Bach Soloists Academy in San Francisco and played under director Jeffrey Thomas. Luke regularly performs on baroque trumpet around the country. Some notable performances include a 2017 performance of Bach’s B-minor Mass in New York for “Impromptu Bach, Music for a Cause”. He also played principal trumpet on Handel’s Messiah for the first ever period instrument performance to take place in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In addition to performing, Luke has been teaching private music lessons to a range of students around the Long Island area for over ten years. He has also given numerous masterclasses for high school students around the area and while traveling. Luke maintains a private studio, and he teaches at various institutions such as The Stony Brook School and NY Conservatory.”
