Faculty

Karen Noack has been a teaching artist for over 20 years bringing her training and professional career into the classroom. She is a BFA graduate of Syracuse University and has continued her art education, as a teaching artist, at BOCES of Eastern Suffolk, and Suffolk Community College. It is with her experiences in varying environments such as commercial establishments, summer camps, public schools, and more, that she has found the joy of sharing art with others.

Her large scale, colorful window and wall murals have assisted in bringing art to the community. It is with the non-profit organization, Splashes of Hope, that Karen has actively continued bringing smiles to many with her art. These murals, which are installed in hospitals, pediatric wards and clinical facilities, are all designed to bring out a child’s imagination in a visual, story telling way, and have a peaceful calming affect with its imagery.

Karen’s approach to teaching is to facilitate the students imagination and creativity, and to provide the technical skills to do so. She believes in encouragement and reinforcement, “There is no wrong way to do ART.”
