Gary Long is an academically trained artist and has been painting since his youth. He is drawn towards the more complex compositional conditions creating the illusion of three-dimensional space. When he paints, each brushstroke embellishes the person’s characteristics with emotional empathy. He also enjoys figurative landscapes, where he paints directly from life, working on his easel outdoors.
